After a year’s absence, Monster Trucks will return to competition at South Boston Speedway Saturday night in an action-packed show that will conclude with a a dazzling fireworks display.
Saturday night’s show, which will include the legendary Big Foot truck and other well-known Monster Trucks, will start at 7 p.m.
The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 22.
The lineup of competing Monster Trucks will include the legendary Big Foot, driven by Rick Long of St. Louis, MO. Big Foot is a 2004 Ford Super Duty truck with a 572-cubic-inch Ford Brown alcohol-injected engine that stands 10 feet tall and weighs 10,000 pounds.
Also expected to be in action are the Black Stallion, a 2008 model Ford F150 truck driven by Michael Vaters of Hagerstown, Md., Higher Education, a Concept flat-nose school bus featuring a 557-cubic-inch big block Ford engine driven by Jimmy Tracey of Hagerstown, Md., Iron Warrior, a 2003 Ford Ranger featuring a 514-cubic-inch big block Ford engine driven by Trey Myers of Brunswick, Md., and War Wizard, a truck that features an Arias 1460 horsepower engine.
Along with the Monster Trucks, fans will see the Kamikaze and Psycho jet four-wheelers and motorcycle stunts performed on FMX motorcycles.
Saturday night’s Monster Truck Show is the final event of the season at South Boston Speedway.
Advance tickets priced at $15 each are on sale at the speedway office through Friday at 5 p.m. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted for $5 each. Tickets at the gate are $20 each.
