Open practice set Saturday at SBS

South Boston Speedway will hold its annual Open Practice & Media Day Saturday, giving drivers and teams a chance to test and tune their racecars and fans a chance to see what is new for the coming season.
Registration for competitors will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with pit gates also opening at 9 a.m.
Drivers will participate in a pair of practice sessions, the first of which will go from 10 a.m. until noon. The second session will run from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
A lunch break will be held from noon until 1 p.m. During the lunch break, a meeting for drivers and crew chiefs will be held at 12:30 p.m.
Area racing fans are invited to come out and watch Saturday’s Open Practice & Media Day event free of charge.
The season-opening event at South Boston Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, when the track will host the Danville Toyota NASCAR Whelen Late Model Twin 100’s racing program.
