Halifax resident Trey Crews has been awarded the win in last Saturday night’s Pure Stock Division race at South Boston Speedway in the wake of the disqualification of three drivers following post-race inspections.
Nathan Crews of Long Island took the checkered flag at the end of the race, with Trey Crews in the runner-up spot.
Following a post-race inspection, track NASCAR officials determined that the cars driven by Nathan Crews, apparent third-place finisher Joe Allred III of Scottsburg and apparent fifth-place finisher Stuart Crews of Long Island did not meet division specifications. As a result, the three drivers were disqualified.
As a result of the disqualifications, Trey Crews picked up his first win of the season. Randy Hupp of Halifax, the apparent fourth-place finisher in the race, was awarded second place, and Jake Brown of Cluster Springs, the apparent sixth-place finisher, was awarded third place.
