Comets drop match at Magna Vista H.S.

The Halifax County High School varsity volleyball team let a match slip away from them in five games Tuesday at Magna Vista High School, the third consecutive time the Comets have played a five-game match.


Halifax County had to rally to force a game five in this one after dropping the first two games by 25-20 and 25-13 scores.

The Comets took game three 25-23 and game four 25-18, but they dropped the fifth and deciding game by a close 16-14 score.

Chris Bradshaw led the Comets with 26 good serves, including nine service aces, and she compiled a team-leading 42 digs.

Gabby Spainhour finished with a team-leading 61 assists, and Whitney White had seven blocks, also a team-high.

The loss dropped the Comets to 5-4 in the Piedmont District and 9-6 overall.
