The Halifax American Belles all-stars and Charlotte County were tied 2-2 after three innings, but Charlotte County scored five runs in the fourth inning on the way to a 9-2 win on Monday, eliminating Halifax American from the Dixie Softball District 7 Tournament.
American scored first on a leadoff single from Olivia Noblin in the top of the first inning followed by an error and two walks.
Charlotte County scored twice off three hits and an error to take a 2-1 lead after one inning, but Halifax tied the score in the second when Kenna Moser singled and later scored on Morgan Nelson’s RBI.
Halifax had only two base runners the remainder of the game, both in the fourth inning when Skye Harlow reached base and Faith Lester walked.
Charlotte County scored five runs on three hits, two walks and an error in the fourth and one run on two hits in the fifth inning.
Erica Allgood and Nelson shared time on the mound for American, with the pair combining for three strikeouts.

Halifax American finished with eight hits and took advantage of five errors and 10 walks to beat Brookneal and stay alive in the tournament.
Halifax scored four runs in the first inning, 13 in the second, two in the fourth and three in the fifth to end the game.
Lester had a triple and single, Sara Moser, McKenzie Francis and Sydney Henderson doubles, and Harlow, Malasia Boyd, Nelson each a base hit for American.
Nelson and Kenna Moser split time on the mound for American in the win, with the pair combining for four strikeouts while allowing four hits.
Brookneal scored its only run in the fourth inning.
