A team sponsored by Green’s Folly Golf Course took home a win Friday in the annual American Legion Post 8 Baseball golf tournament.
Green’s Folly, with Bobby Wilborn, David Day, Sammie Moser and Billy Henderson, carded a one-day total of 57 to win in a match of cards with a team sponsored by Franklin’s Garage.
Go Hoos! Finished in third-place in the Championship Flight.
The tournament was played in a captain’s choice format, with four-man teams flighted based upon handicaps.
Proceeds from the tournament will go toward the American Legion Post 8 junior baseball program, according to Jimmy Crews, a member of the Post 8 baseball committee.
“The weather was good, and it was good fun, and we appreciate everyone coming out,” said Crews.
“The greens are in good shape,” said Crews, “and Chris Dockrill and everyone here does a good job with them.”
Cumbey’s Crew carded a one-day total of 59 to win the First Flight, one stroke better than Adam’s View Farm.
American Legion 1 carded a 60 to win the Second Flight, two strokes ahead of Danville Distributing Co.
