South Boston Speedway will return to action and host a pair of 250-lap races Oct. 17. The Mason Dixon 500 will feature a 250-lap race for the area’s best NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model Stock Car Division drivers and teams and a 250-lap shootout for the touring PASS Super Late Model Series.
The first race of the day Oct. 17 will get the green flag at 3 p.m. A 250-lap race for the Late Model Stock Car Division will run first and will be followed by the 250-lap PASS Super Late Model event.
Grandstand gates will open on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. Last chance 50-lap races will get the green flag at noon and will be followed by a one-hour Fan Appreciation Session on the four-tenths mile asphalt oval.
Practice for both divisions will be held Oct. 16, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 3 p.m. Oct. 16, and will be followed by qualifying time trials for both races, which will get cranked up at 4 p.m.
Twenty-five lap qualifying races for both divisions will be held at the close of the time trials.
