Defending South Boston Speedway Pure Stock Division Champion Joe Allred III left South Boston Speedway this past Saturday night with a win and a second-place finish in the night’s pair of 30-lap Pure Stock Division races.
Today, the Scottsburg resident has two wins.
South Boston Speedway officials announced yesterday that Nathan Crews of Long Island, the apparent winner of the night’s second 30-lap Pure Stock race, was disqualified and had his win taken away.
Track officials noted that Crews’ car failed to pass the post-race inspection as the result of an unapproved part.
Crews’ second-place finish in the night’s first 30-lap Pure Stock race was allowed to stand.
Also, track officials said yesterday that a scoring re-check of Saturday night’s 50-lap Limited Sportsman Division race showed that Chris Crosby of Raleigh, N.C., who was listed as having finished in seventh place, one lap down, did not lose a lap in the race and finished fourth.
As a result, Daniel Moss of Danville dropped from fourth place to fifth place in the official finishing order.
