The Blue Ridge Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Scottsburg Dixie Youth Baseball League are sponsoring a $10,000 cash raffle Friday at The Prizery in South Boston.
Tickets are $100 per chance for the raffle. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the raffle drawing will be at approximately 8 p.m.
Tickets must be present at the start of the drawing, or the ticket will be voided and resold.
The ticket will serve as an invitation to the raffle, and all attendees must be 21 years of age or older, with dinner and set-ups (BYOB) catered by Maynard Childress.
Each $100 ticket covers dinner for two and a chance at $10,000 on the first ticket, and then a chance at $100 every 25th ticket drawn.
Those interested in tickets may contact Stephen Casen at 434-470-4606 or Randy Irby at 434-470-2559.
Proceeds from the raffle will support the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Scottsburg Dixie Youth Baseball.
Multiple Sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord).
Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe such as paralysis or loss of vision.
The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS vary among individuals and are unpredictable.
New treatments and advances in research are giving hope to people affected by the disorder.
MS is not a fatal disease. Most individuals with MS have near-normal life expectancies, and most learn to cope with the disease and are able to live productive lives.
