The Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling “Halifax County SuperBrawl” Saturday night at Halifax County High School lived up to its billing, with former WWE and current MACW star Matt Hardy and MACW star Buff “The Stuff” Bagwell winning the vacant NWA World Tag Team Championship.
Opponents “Mr. Mid-Atlantic” Rikki Nelson and Jeff “The Feature Presentation” Lewis gave Hardy and Bagwell a tough time, especially after they isolated Hardy in their corner.
Hardy escaped, however, and Bagwell later rolled up Lewis to get the pin and earn the duo the tag team championship.
Popular multi-time champion “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner rallied late in his bout to pin TNA star Gunner to retain the MACW Hardcore championship.
Chase Owens retained the MACW Junior Heavyweight Championship with a victory over challenger Chris Hamrick.
Jayme Jamison retained the MACW Women’s Championship with a victory over Reby Sky. Jamison defeated Sky in a MACW bout here earlier this year, and Saturday’s win gives the top-ranked Jamison two wins over Sky here in South Boston.
In a non-title match, a relative newcomer to the MACW scene, “The Priest Of Punishment” Michael Judas, defeated veteran MACW star Andrue Bane.
A crowd estimated at approximately 750 fans attended the MACW pro wrestling event, which was held as a fundraiser for the Halifax County High School Athletic Department.
