The Halifax American Debs all-stars won their fourth straight game in the Dixie Softball World Series on Monday night in Powhatan with a 2-0 win over Alabama.

Halifax American, the only unbeaten team remaining in the tournament, were scheduled to play Arkansas Tuesday night, and a win in that game has it playing the winner of the Louisiana-Alabama game on Wednesday.

Dalyn Hall allowed only three hits against Alabama and went the distance, pitching all seven innings as Halifax remained unbeaten.

American had two of its eight hits in the first inning, VeVe Brandon with a leadoff single and Kate Bane with a sacrifice bunt before Meg Bane’s two-out RBI single made it 1-0.

Halifax had three other hits for the game, a fifth inning single by Jamilia Smith, a sixth inning single by Brandon and a seventh inning single by Meg Bane.

Hall struck out one batter and allowed three hits, a single in both the second and third innings and a leadoff single in the sixth, the only inning where Alabama put a base runner in scoring position.

American’s defense committed only two fielding miscues in the game and turned a double play in the third inning.
