The Halifax American Debs all-stars won their fourth straight game in the Dixie Softball World Series on Monday night in Powhatan with a 2-0 win over Alabama.
Halifax American, the only unbeaten team remaining in the tournament, were scheduled to play Arkansas Tuesday night, and a win in that game has it playing the winner of the Louisiana-Alabama game on Wednesday.

Dalyn Hall allowed only three hits against Alabama and went the distance, pitching all seven innings as Halifax remained unbeaten.
American had two of its eight hits in the first inning, VeVe Brandon with a leadoff single and Kate Bane with a sacrifice bunt before Meg Bane’s two-out RBI single made it 1-0.
Lindsey Wilkins was stranded after a leadoff double in the third, but Halifax added a run off two hits, a walk and Alabama error in the fourth, with Kate Bane hitting a single, Jameshia Smith reaching base on an error and Meg Bane on a fielder’s choice.
Jennifer Lacks walked and Hall hit an infield single for an RBI to plate Smith for a 2-0 lead.
Halifax had three other hits for the game, a fifth inning single by Jamilia Smith, a sixth inning single by Brandon and a seventh inning single by Meg Bane.
Hall struck out one batter and allowed three hits, a single in both the second and third innings and a leadoff single in the sixth, the only inning where Alabama put a base runner in scoring position.
American’s defense committed only two fielding miscues in the game and turned a double play in the third inning.
Halifax 6 Louisiana 2
A five-run fourth inning gave Halifax the lead, and it held off Louisiana 6-2 on Sunday.
Halifax took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a leadoff single by Brandon. Kate Bane reached on an error and Jameshia Smith on a fielder’s choice before an RBI single by Meg Bane plated Smith.
Jill Trickey was stranded after a second-inning single, but Halifax American scored five runs on five hits in the fourth inning, beginning with a single by Kate Bane and a two-run homer by Jameshia Smith.
Meg Bane singled, Jennifer Lacks was hit by a pitch and Hall hit a sacrifice groundout before an RBI single by Tayler Mosley and a two-run double by Trickey made it 6-0.
Halifax had two other hits for the game, a fifth-inning single by Brandon and a sixth-inning double by Meg Bane but could not add any runs, while Louisiana scored two seventh-innings runs on a walk, error, fielder’s choice and RBI double.
Lacks pitched four innings and Courtney Epps three innings for American, Lacks finishing with two strikeouts and Epps with five.
Lacks and Epps each allowed only one hit.
Halifax American 10 South Carolina 5
Halifax American scored 10 runs on 10 hits in the second inning to erase a four-run deficit before going on to a 10-5 win over South Carolina.
South Carolina had scored four runs on three doubles, a walk and Halifax error to take a 4-0 lead after one inning before Halifax responded.
Meg Bane singled, Hall reached on an error and Mosley and Jamilia Smith (two RBIs) singled ahead of a two-run home run by Wilkins.
Epps and Jessica Velazquez singled, Brandon was hit by a pitch, Kate Bane hit a two-run single and Jameshia Smith an RBI single before Meg Bane’s two-run double made it 10-4.
South Carolina scored its final run in the third inning off a hit and an error, but Halifax allowed only three hits the rest of the game.
Mosley and Wilkins added base hits in the third and fourth innings for Halifax, which used three pitchers in the win, including Hall, Wilkins and Lacks.
Hall pitched one third of an inning, and Wilkins came on to pitch through the sixth inning. Lacks and Wilkins combined to pitch the seventh inning for Halifax.

Halifax American 20 Georgia 6
Halifax American finished with 13 hits and blasted Georgia 20-6 in its opener.
Halifax scored one run in the first inning, five in the third, seven in the fourth, one in the fifth and six in the top of the seventh inning.
Georgia scored one run in the first inning, three in the fourth and one in the seventh inning.
Kate Bane finished with two hits and three RBIs, Brandon with two hits, an RBI and three runs scored, and Jameshia Smith with two hits and two RBIs.
Epps hit a three-run double, Meg Bane added two RBIs, one on a double and the other on a fielder’s choice, while Lacks added an RBI double and Hall an RBI single and another RBI on a sacrifice groundout.
Wilkins had RBIs on a single and fielder’s choice, and Jamilia Smith added a base hit and an RBI when she was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Mosley contributed a base hit to her team’s effort.
Halifax American used five pitchers in the win, including Hall, Epps, Lacks, Kate Bane and Meg Bane, with the quintet allowing five runs on four hits, while striking out five batters.
