Debs win World Series opener

The Halifax American Debs all-stars won their Dixie Softball Debs World Series opener Saturday in Powhatan with a 20-5 drubbing of Georgia.
Halifax American played two games Sunday, beginning with a 1:30 p.m. game against South Carolina.
Details of American’s Saturday win were not available at press time.
