The Halifax American Debs all-stars cruised to 12-2 win in five innings over host Lunenburg in the Dixie Softball Debs state tournament on Saturday.
Halifax American scored seven runs in the first inning, one in the second and four runs in the third inning against Lunenburg, with the host team scoring both its runs in the third inning.
Six Halifax players had at least two hits in the win, with Jameshia Smith, Meg Bane, Tayler Mosley and Jamilia Smith each going 2-3.
Lindsey Wilkins and Courtney Epps each went 2-2, while Jill Trickey went 1-2, VeVe Brandon 1-1, and Kate Bane and Jennifer Lacks each went 1-3.
Four pitchers saw time on the mound against Lunenburg, with Epps starting the game and pitching the first two innings.
Dalyn Hall, Meg Bane and Lacks each hurled one inning against Lunenburg, with Halifax American pitching combining to strike out three batters while allowing a total of five hits.
Halifax American was scheduled to play two games yesterday, beginning with a 4 p.m. game against Amherst.
