Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling will return to South Boston Saturday night with the Halifax County Brawl. The MACW pro wrestling event will be held at the Halifax County High School gym, with proceeds to help benefit the Halifax County Sheriff’s Department Crimestoppers program.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. with bell time set for 8 p.m.
Ringside seats are priced at $20 each, with general admission tickets priced at $10 each. Advance tickets are on sale at Bo’s Hydraulics in Riverdale and at the Scissor Shack on Halifax Road. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the event.
If advance tickets sell out at Bo’s Hydraulics and the Scissor Shack, plenty of tickets will be available at the door Saturday night.
Last year’s MACW event at Halifax County High School drew approximately 2,000 fans.
Professional wrestler “Mr. Mid-Atlantic” Rikki Nelson, who ranks number one in the MACW heavyweight rankings, said he and the MACW stars are looking forward to returning to Halifax County for Saturday night’s event.
“It was a great show,” Nelson pointed out about last year’s event.
“We had about 2,000 Halifax County rednecks sitting in there, all wanting to see some wrestling, wanting to see what it’s like being a big-time star. They still don’t know, but when they see me come into the ring, they will know what a big star is all about.”
Nelson, who is planning to retire from the ring at the end of the year, said he will team up with The Barbarian to face popular former WWE star Matt Hardy and Ricky Morton of the famed Rock-N-Roll Express in a tag-team match for the MACW Tag Team Championship in one of the night’s featured matches.
Saturday’s event at Halifax County high School will be Hardy’s debut event with MACW. The Barbarian and Nelson are ranked fourth in the MACW tag team rankings.
Also among the top MACW stars to be featured on Saturday night’s card is ‘The Total Package” Lex Luger.
The MACW stars that will be competing in Saturday night’s action will be available for autographs prior to the start of the night’s first match.
