Junior varsity volleyball falls to GW

The Halifax County High School junior varsity volleyball team rallied from an early deficit, but came up short in the final game as GW escaped with a narrow win here Thursday night. Halifax County dropped the first game 25-14, but rallied to score a decisive 25-7 win in the second game to force the best-of-three-game match into a third game. There the Comets came up, falling to GW 15-11.

Jasmine Lovelace led the Comets in service points with seven and Lelia Conner followed with five. Brianna Cunningham led the Comets in kills with three.

The Comets jayvees will be back in action Tuesday when they face Franklin County High School in Rocky Mount.
