Scottsburg will serve as host for a Dixie Youth Baseball Machine Pitch (AA) Baseball Tournament, starting today and running through Monday.
Six teams will compete in the tournament, with South Hill taking on Clarksville today at 6 p.m. in game one, and South Boston taking on host Scottsburg at 8 p.m. in game two.
Saturday’s schedule has Halifax playing Brunswick at 1 p.m. in game three, followed by a 3 p.m. contest between the winners of games one and two.
Two other games are scheduled for Saturday, a 5 p.m. game (game five) between the losers of games one and two, and a 7 p.m. game (game six) between the winners of game four and game three.
Sunday’s schedule features three games, starting with a 3 p.m. game (game seven) between the game five winner and the loser of game three.
Game eight at 5 p.m. pits the losers of games four and six, and a 7 p.m. game (game nine) features the winners of games six and seven.
The championship game is scheduled for Monday at 6:30 p.m. between the winners of games eight and nine, and if necessary another game to determine the champion will be played at 8:30 p.m.
