HCHS pitcher Tyler Long earns All-State honors

Halifax County High School senior pitcher and outfielder Tyler Long has been named to the Second Team of the All-Group AAA Baseball Team.

 

Long is one of three players from the Northwest Region to earn all-state honors.
The Comets senior had a .383 batting average with 12 RBIs during the regular season.
Junior Sean Kennedy of North Stafford High School and senior John Williams of Battlefield High School were the only other players from the Northwest Region to earn all-state honors.
Long and teammate William Worley were previously named to the First Team of the All-Northwest Region Team, making them eligible for consideration for all-state honors.
Kenny Towns, a senior at Lake Braddock High School and a University of Virginia signee, was named as the state Player of the Year.
