SBS to honor rain checks for Saturday’s event

Rain checks from the rain-shortened July 31 event will be honored when South Boston Speedway returns to action Saturday night for the running of the Sunoco presents Anderson Lawn Care Night 150. The first of six events slated on Saturday will get the green flag at 7 p.m. The rain date for the event is Sunday, Aug. 15.
Rain checks from the rain-shortened NASCAR Whelen All American Series racing action at America’s Hometown Track on Saturday, July 31, will be honored only at Saturday’s event.

Race fans must have their ticket stubs purchased from the July 31 event to exchange for admission to the Sunoco presents Anderson Lawn Care Night 150 program

“The entire South Boston Speedway staff is so grateful to all of the diehard race fans who stuck with us Saturday night and waited through the rain to see some racing action,” South Boston Speedway General Manager Cathy Rice said.

“We look forward to having them back for some more great racing action on Aug. 14. We are so blessed here to have the best competitors and the best fan base around.”

The featured attraction of the Sunoco presents Anderson Lawn Care Night 150 program will be a 150-lap event for the drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.

The Limited Sportsman Division will also be in action with twin races slated on Saturday. Other events planned for the evening include a race for the drivers in the Budweiser Pure Stock Division and twin races for the competitors in the Southern Vintage Modified Division.

Pit registration will begin at noon on Saturday. Practice for all divisions will be held from 2:15 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get under way at 5:15 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5 p.m.
