The Halifax American Darlings all-stars posted a resounding 21-4 win over host Denison, Texas Monday night to stay alive in the Dixie Softball Darlings World Series. The win came a day after American suffered its first loss of the tournament with a 21-0 setback against Tennessee.
American, one of six teams remaining, played Louisiana last night needing a win to advance in the World Series.

Jeri Lynn Tyler, Jessica Balducci and Savanna Cabaniss slugged home runs, Cabaniss tripled, Cassidy Walker hit two doubles and Kayla Walker and Hailie Lawhorn one double apiece in American’s win.
American held a 6-1 lead after one inning after a Cabaniss triple, Cassidy Walker double and singles from Lawhorn, Lauryn Chappell, Karina Velazquez, DeeDee Jeffress and Raegan Ridgeway.
The American lead grew to 13-1 in the second inning on a Tyler home run, Lawhorn double and singles from Velazquez, Cassidy Walker, Cabaniss, Chappell and Jeffress.
American scored its final eight runs in the third inning on home runs by Balducci and Cabaniss, a double by Cassidy Walker and singles by Karlye Dyer, Velazquez, Lawhorn and Tyler.
Kayla Walker doubled in the fourth inning, where Denison added its final three runs of the game.
Velazquez was on the mound the entire game for Halifax American.
Tennessee 21 Halifax American 0
Halifax American ran into a buzz saw against Tennessee and lost 21-0 in three and a half innings. Each American player batted once, but none was able to advance past second base.
The game was called after Tennessee batted in the top of the fourth inning.
