The Halifax American Angels all-stars saved their best for last and it paid off handsomely Tuesday night for a 13-5 win over Powhatan National in the Virginia Dixie Softball Angels State Tournament championship game. Needing a win in one of two games against Powhatan to take home the title, Halifax American dropped a close 2-1 decision in game one before turning right around and slugging its way to the championship, scoring seven runs on four hits in the first inning and four runs on two hits in the second to take an 11-2 lead.
