The Halifax American Darlings all-stars are the only unbeaten team in the Dixie Softball District 7 Tournament after two wins in its first two games including a 16-10 win over Halifax National on Friday and a 28-7 win over Brookneal on Saturday. Halifax National kept its hopes alive with a 19-12 win over Motley on Saturday and played Brookneal last night for another shot at American, which has a bye into tonight.

Savannah Cabaniss smacked three home runs in three plate appearances, Dee Dee Jeffress smacked one round tripper and Karina Velazquez had a double and two singles in four trips to the plate in the American rout of Brookneal.
American scored five runs in the first inning, eight runs in each of the next two innings and seven in the fourth, while Brookneal scored a run in the second and six in the third inning.
Velazquez, Hailie Lawhorn and Cassidy Walker had singles in the first inning, which was capped by Cabaniss’ first home run.
Cabaniss hit her second home run in the second inning, Jeffress added a homer and Jessica Balducci and Jerri Tyler added singles as American built a 13-1 lead.
Cabaniss homered, Kayla Walker doubled and Balducci and Velazquez singled as the lead grew to 21-7.
Velazquez and Walker doubled and Raegan Ridgeway and Lauryn Chappell singled in a seven-run fourth inning, which sealed the win for American.
Halifax National 19 Motley 12
Jada Brandon slugged a home run and five players had two hits apiece, as National stayed alive in the tournament with a 19-12 win over Motley on Saturday.
National trailed 3-2 after one inning, but outscored Motley 8-2 in the second inning. Motley pulled to within 11-10 after three innings, but National outscored Motley 8-0 in the fourth inning to build a 19-10 advantage.
Motley added two runs in the top of the fifth but it wasn’t enough.
Jada Brandon finished with a home run and single for National, while Sydney Wilborn, Katie Cole, Cassidy Thompson and Amy Wilson had two hits apiece, and Makayla Martin, Porsche Brandon, Gracie Wagstaff, Kerrie Reaves, Kaitlyn Richardson and Madison Vargas had one hit apiece.

American trailed 4-0 after one inning, outscored National 7-0 an inning later and went on to a 16-10 win on Friday.
It was 9-8 in favor of American after three innings, and American posted seven runs in the fourth, while National scored one run apiece in the fourth and fifth innings.
Velazquez finished with two doubles for American, Shekeria Chandler had a triple and single, and Ridgeway had two base hits, while Hailie Lawhorn and Jeffress each had a double and Chappell and Balducci base hits.
Katie Cole had a triple and single for National, while Jada Brandon had a double and single, Alyssa Spencer a triple, Vargas a double and Wilborn and Porsche Brandon singles.
