VT Football Chaplain To Speak Here In July

Virginia Tech football team chaplain Johnny Shelton and several members of the Virginia Tech football team will be the guest speakers at a special Fellowship of Christian Athletes event here on July 29. The Halifax Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association and the Halifax Hokie Club are hosting the event, which will be held in the fellowship hall at the First Baptist Church at 815 Main Street in South Boston.

A free barbecue dinner will be held as part of the event.

Persons wishing to attend the event must make reservations by July 23. Reservations may be made by contacting Carlyle R. There is no charge for the meal. However, donations to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Virginia Tech will be solicited.

Among the topics that Shelton and the guest football players will speak on during the event is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the impact it has on players and coaches.
