Comets Hoops Star Receives Post-Season Honor

Comets basketball standout Deshon Dabbs has received another post-season honor, this time as one of 33 Virginia prep hoops standouts nominated for the prestigious McDonald’s High School All American Game. There is no set number of how many players can be nominated throughout the country, with more than 1,500 players nationwide getting consideration each year.

Players must have played at least half of their senior season and should be considered academically eligible throughout the voting process, which consists of four round.

Selection Committee Chairman Morgan Wootten reviews and approves the twenty names chosen by the Selection Committee and notifies each player that he has been named to the McDonald’s All American High School Basketball Team and selected to play in the McDonald’s All American Game.

Doron Lamb of Oak Hill Academy and Kendall Marshall of Bishop O’Connell High School were selected to represent Virginia at the annual McDonald’s High School All American game, to be played March 31 at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
