Whew! Turkeys get pardons

The United States President is pardoning the National Thanksgiving Turkey in a ceremony in the Rose Garden today.  The president will celebrate the 66th anniversary of the National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation, reflect upon the time-honored traditions of Thanksgiving, and wish American families a safe and healthy holiday.

Coincidences?

It will be 50 years on Friday that an assassin’s bullets struck down President John F. Kennedy in the prime of life. 

Simple wisdom

I can only assume some of you have experienced the same feelings I’ve had on occasion and felt you had very little control over the most miniscule things in life.

Veterans Day

Our 5th District VFW Chaplain friend Cary Ford invites all veterans, their family and friends, and other area residents who love their country and want to show appreciation to veterans who have served their country to attend the annual Veterans Day Parade Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. in downtown South Boston. 

Arachnophobia ... not really

The month of October is perhaps my favorite time of year, and not just for Halloween, one of my favorite holidays and the beginning of the countdown to Thanksgiving and Christmas.
