Faith in humanity restored

To the editor:

My daughter, son in-law and three grandchildren (Snead family) lost their home to fire on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

I just wanted to thank all the lovely and generous people who have been there in so many ways to help them.

I live in northern British Columbia, Canada, and have felt so utterly helpless as a mother not being able to be there.

It amazes me how a community rallies together in crisis. People that you’ve never met are unselfishly giving their time, effort and support to you in your time of need.

Of course it will take some time for them to recoup from this loss as they lost absolutely everything and had no insurance.

My helplessness is fading fast though as I see the support given to my family. My faith in humanity has been restored.

Again thank-you to this wonderful community.

A ‘Good Samaritan’ story

To the editor:

I also had “Good Samaritans” in Clover during this snowstorm who cleaned my driveway so I could get out. Thanks Wash and Debbie.

This isn’t the first time they have done this. They also did it last year when it snowed.

Also I had some “good fairies” to shovel a path from my back door to my car underneath the carport. I’m not sure who you are, but here’s a big “thank you” for being so nice.

It’s wonderful to have good neighbors.

America’s future

To the editor:

America is under attack not only from terrorist groups but also from principalities and powers from within which was documented when our Attorney General provided his recent opinion on “same sex marriages” backed up by a Federal District Judge’s ruling.

It is disheartening and sad to see America’s future fading away at such a rapid pace.

I write this letter because I am concerned about our community, state and country and the direction we are headed.

God gave his people laws, statues and commandments in the books of Exodus and Leviticus and throughout the Bible to live by if we wanted to live well, be protected and to be blessed. God has promised if we (all people) will obey his statues and commandments he will protect us, provide for our needs and bless us. Specifically addressing same sex relationships it states that “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is an abomination” in Leviticus Chapter 18 Verse 22. An abomination to the Lord, I personally would not want to make God mad at me, bad things will happen.

History throughout the world has proven, when nations become sinful, blessings stop and destruction follows. We as a community, state and nation need God’s blessings and protection. We must follow God’s laws because they are “etched in stone” and should not be altered by man. God must be disappointed in our legislative and judicial system in America.

History has also revealed that nations with evil, ungodly leaders fail. The Hebrew people became the richest most powerful nation in the world when their leaders loved God and followed his statutes and commandments. Examples include the reigns of King David and his son King Solomon. Each time when nations turned away from God the blessings stopped and destruction followed.

Iraq, Japan, Germany and Russia are more recent nations, which failed because of ungodly leadership, which was endorsed by the people.

I am concerned that mature Christians who know right from wrong but, become passive and do not get involved as our nation morally deteriorates.

America is headed in the same direction as other pagan nations. We should be concerned about our younger generation and their lack of foundational knowledge of the Bible and true history of the world which is recorded in the Bible. It’s wrong to lay with the same sex. Young people with weak backgrounds in religion and ethics will assume it’s OK for same sex relationships and marriages because a judge said it’s legal. It’s wrong and will be forever in the eyes of your God and mine.

Being constitutionally correct in the opinion of a judge does not supersede God’s law. Young people must not be misled and deceived.

For sure God is coming back to live on the new earth because this is where the new Heaven will be (Revelation Chapter 22). Christians take a stand now and get involved. God’s word says the new Heaven will be on this earth. Young people keep yourselves focused on the truth, which can be found in God’s letter to you, the “Bible.”

Prayer from the heart is your only way to communicate with God. God is on duty 24 hours a day; Text messages, iPods, emails and Internet won’t cut it. He wants to hear from you because he loves you. Pray for your family every day which is our America.

If you want to know what is going to happen to the world in the future, it’s throughout the Bible especially in the books of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation.

Remember to pray for America.
