Mrs. Ruby Epps Seamon of South Boston died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at The Woodview nursing home. She was born in Halifax County on Dec. 28, 1931 and was 81 years old. She was the daughter of the late Moses Epps and the late Mary Ann Thompson Epps and was married to the late Jack Seamon Sr.

Peter M. Sterling Tucker

Peter M. Sterling Tucker, age 89, of Chester, Pa., joined the Heavenly Host on Feb. 22, 2013 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.  He was the son of the late Alex Tucker and Rebecca Faris Tucker.

Ms. Lottie Mae Guthrie of Sinai Road, South Boston died March 2, 2013 at Berry Hill Nursing Home at the age of 89.

Beatrice Tuck Guthrie

Beatrice Tuck Guthrie, 92, of Nathalie passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Robert James Guthrie.

Louis Dennis Dawson

Mr. Louis Dennis Dawson of South Boston died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 17, 1951 in Halifax County the son of the late Edward Benford ‘E.B. Dawson Jr. and Bessie Meadows Dawson, who survives. Dennis enjoyed music and was a devoted guitar instructor to many aspiring musicians.

William Dean Owen

Mr. William Dean ‘Wild Bill’ Owen of South Boston died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at his home. He was born in Halifax County on March 8, 1946 and was 66 years old. He was the son of the late Willie Fuller Owen and the late Gertrude Nichols Owen.
