Leo Julian Carden Jr.

Leo Julian Carden Jr. of South Boston died Wednesday, April 24, 2013. He was born in Durham, N.C. on Aug. 18, 1926 and was 86 years of age. He was the son of the late Leo J. Carden Sr. and Mabel Stubbins Carden. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda ‘Bet’ Christerson Carden; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and David Peckens of Virginia Beach; a sister, Helen C. Hayes, of Nelson and Lake Mary, Fla.; and several devoted nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three sisters, Mabel C. Puryear, Elizabeth C. Traynham, and Nannie C. Frederick.

He was the son of the late William Frank Arendall Sr. and Lillie Morgie Martin Arendall and was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Moore Arendall.

He was the son of the late Alonzo Merritt Crews Jr. and Ann Florine Nichols Crews and is survived by his wife, Gail Francis Crews.

Jinny Gebhart, born Virginia Lovelace Cole, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Bonnie Bluejacket Nursing Home where she resided for the past three and half years.
