Mr. Marvin Dean “Coonie” Moorefield of 218 Chalmers Street, South Boston passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 79. 

Frances Shepard Sneed

Mrs. Frances Shepard Sneed of Halifax died Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Envoy of Forest Hill in Richmond. She was born in Chase City on March 9, 1926, and was 87 years old. She was the daughter of the late George Fulton Shepard and the late Annie Laurie Edmonds Shepard and married to the late Arthur E. Sneed.

Jane Taylor Wolfe of Charlotte, N.C. died peacefully Monday, May 27, at her home at Sharon Towers after brief illness.  Mrs. Wolfe was born in Atlanta, Ga. on Dec. 20, 1923 to the late Carl Allensworth Taylor and Virginia Easley Taylor Evans.

Mr. Royal Douglas ‘Bill’ Brandon Jr. of Mason Chapel Road, Alton died May 26, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 83.

William Robert ‘Bill’ Carr Jr.

Mr. William Robert ‘Bill’ Carr Jr. of 5020 Clarkton Road, Nathalie died Monday, May 27, 2013, at his home. He was born in Danville on March 11, 1934 and was 79 years old.  He was the son of the late William Robert Carr Sr. and Ruth Esther Owen Carr and was married to Mary Katherine West Carr.  He was a retired farmer, a member of Ellis Creek Baptist Church, a graduate of Virginia Tech, active member of the AARP, the South Boston – Halifax County YMCA, was a US Army veteran, founding member of the Triangle Volunteer Fire Department, a founding member of the Mt. Laurel Pool Association, was a member of the Clarkton Hunt Club and was an avid fisherman.

Jonnice Belinda Elizabeth Hamilton

Jonnice Belinda Elizabeth Hamilton, age 64, died suddenly May 1, 2013 in Wheaton, Md. after a long illness. She was a retired computer specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy. 

Adolphus Napoleon Brown Jr.

Mr. Adolphus Napoleon Brown Jr. of Short Street, Clover died May 25, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 70.
