Louise Nichols Rickman, age 87, died at her Mechanicsville home Oct. 1, 2013. She was born in Roanoke to the late Lucinda Overstreet Covington and L.B. ‘Jigger’ Covington. She was predeceased by her first husband, Vincent T. Nichols Sr. and her second husband, Robert Irvin ‘Rick’ Rickman (Sept. 8, 2013). She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James L. Covington and Ralph H. Covington.

Mrs. Shirley Mae Dunn Murphy of Washington, D.C. and formerly of Halifax County died on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at the age of 74.
