Tommy Joseph Wolfe

Tommy Joseph Wolfe, 66, of 1204 Long Branch Lane, Scottsburg, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.  Born in Person County, Mr. Wolfe was the son of the late Ira Joseph Wolfe and Clarice Clayton Wolfe, who survives, of Hurdle Mills.

Archie Thomas Morgan

Archie Thomas Morgan, 83, died Oct. 7, 2013 at his home in Knollwood Village of Southern Pines, N.C. 

Charlotte Epps Lloyd

Mrs. Charlotte Epps Lloyd of 1130 Wagstaff Lane, Scottsburg died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at the age of 64. She was born in Halifax County on Nov. 15, 1948 to the late Robert Booker Epps and the late Josie Landrum Epps and was married to Joe Lloyd. Mrs. Lloyd was retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of Winns Creek Baptist Church.

Jesse Rogers Spencer Sr.

Mr. Jesse Rogers Spencer Sr. of Halifax died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at his home. He was born in Halifax County on July 10, 1935 and was 78 years of age. He was the son of the late George Letcher Spencer and Clara Crews Spencer and was also preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Womack Spencer.

Ella Rebecca ‘Nancy’ Cole Newton

Mrs. Ella Rebecca “Nancy” Cole Newton, 90, of Nelson, and widow of Oliver Wilson Newton, passed away at home Monday, Oct. 14, 2013.  Mrs. Newton was born Dec. 9, 1922 to the late William Morgan and Mary Emma Whitt Cole in Halifax County.  

Pauline Snead Noblin Crews

Mrs. Pauline Snead Noblin Crews of Clover died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at her home. She was born in Halifax County on Jan. 16, 1926 and was 87 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Jack Holcomb Snead and Pearl Crenshaw Snead and was first married to the late Ernest Marvin Noblin then to the late Frank J. Crews Jr.

Annie Marie Gray Rogers

Mrs. Annie Marie Gray Rogers, age 79, of South Boston, formerly of Patrick County, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Sherry Smith.  She was born in Patrick County on Oct. 1, 1934 to the late Willie Sanders Gray and Lottie Martin Gray. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Rogers; one son, Timmy Lee Rogers; and two sisters, Ruth Crannell and Mabel Boaz.  She was a long time member of Peters Creek Baptist Church, having joined the church in 1953.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and had a special love for children.

Kimberley Fallen Bosiger

Mrs. Kimberley Fallen Bosiger of South Boston died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She was born in Halifax County on Nov. 3, 1969 and was 43 years of age. 

Bobby Queensberry

Bobby Queensberry, 77, of Chase City, died Oct. 10, 2013. He was a retired employee of Cardinal Homes and the widower of Audrey Queensberry. 

Felix Marshall Ballou

Mr. Felix Marshall Ballou of L. P. Bailey Highway, Halifax died Oct. 10 at University of Virginia Medical Center at the age of 57.
