Mrs. Barbara Mae Ross Hanna of Hollywood, Fla., formerly of South Boston, died in Florida at the age of 79.

The Honorable Franklin M. Slayton

The Honorable Franklin M. Slayton of South Boston died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at his home. He was born in Richmond, Aug. 14, 1932 and was 81 years of age. He was the son the late Marshall William Slayton and Katherine Moore Slayton and is survived by his wife, Ruth Jean Gilliland Slayton.

Leslie Earnest Redd, age 63, of 15120 Halifax Road, Java died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at his residence. He was born Oct. 15, 1950 in Pittsylvania County, the son of the late Carlton Luther Redd and Dalhia Sue Ethel McGregor Redd.

George Edward Langford Sr.

Mr. George Edward Langford Sr. of 5238 Philpott Road, South Boston died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the age of 81. He was born Feb. 8, 1932 to the late George Howard Langford and the late Jenny Walker Langford and was married to Faye K. Langford. Mr Langford was a retired security guard.

Rocky Lee Joines Sr., 58, of Clover died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.

Edd N. Dallas, 89, of Richmond died Oct. 24, 2013 at Lakewood Manor where he resided the last 18 years. He was the son of the late Lee Vert Dallas Sr. and Nola Nichols Dallas of Nathalie in Halifax County. He was a member and raised in Hunting Creek Baptist Church.
