Ruby Green Griffin, 88, of Clarksville passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013.  She was born July 8, 1925 in South Boston to the late Ernest Gray and Lottie Rogers Green. Ruby was the widow of Raymond Wooding Griffin.

Mrs. Beatrice Virginia Edmunds Woodall of High View Road, Halifax died on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at her residence at the age of 103.

Mr. Randolph Barnes III of Webster Street, South Boston died Nov. 13, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 65.

Cecil Demara Stokes

Mr. Cecil Demara Stokes of MacDonald Road, Scottsburg died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital at the age of 55.

Freddie Lee Holt

Mr. Freddie Lee Holt of Halifax died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at The Woodview. He was born March 28, 1948 in Halifax County, the son of the late Harry Thomas Holt and Lillie Walker Holt.

John Winston Edwards

Mr. John Winston Edwards of 1006 Waddell Woods Lane, South Boston passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at his home. He was born in Dothan, Ala. on Nov. 30, 1948 and was 64 years old. He was the son of Grey Holt Edwards Sr. and Margaret Maddox Edwards who both survive, and was married to Laura Cranford Edwards. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the choir and also was the former choir director at Dan River Baptist Church for 30 years. Mr. Edwards was a 38-year employee with the Halifax County School System and retired as director of Technology.
