Samuel Lacy (Sonny) Riddle Jr.

Mr. Samuel Lacy “Sonny” Riddle Jr. of 501 Cheverly Drive, South Boston died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Halifax Regional Hospital.  He was born in Danville on June 22, 1950 and was 62 years old.  He was the son of the late Samuel Lacy Riddle Sr. and Frances Hudson Riddle and was married to Brenda Banton Riddle who survives.  He was a member of Black Walnut Baptist Church, was retired from the Halifax County School System after 31 years of service, was a staff writer for the Gazette Virginian newspaper, and was a former radio newscaster with WHLF.  

Sheila Estes Robinette

Ms. Sheila Estes Robinette of 541 Golden Lane, Sutherlin, lost her battle with cancer Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the age of 50. She was born in Richmond on Feb. 23, 1962, to the late Carroll Roland Estes and Catherine Thomas Davis. Ms. Robinette was of the Baptist faith.
