Mrs. Ellen Hancock Canada and Mr. Brien O’Neal Williams of Lower Liberty Road, Nathalie died March 2 at their home in Nathalie.
Mrs. Canada was born in Campbell on March 28, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Hudson Hancock and Mrs. Lillian Henry Hancock. She was married to Mr. James Edward Canada and was a member of Brown’s Memorial Church of God in Christ.
Mrs. Canada is survived by her husband, Mr. James E. Canada; three daughters, Mrs. Ella Trent and husband Doc of Halifax, Mrs. Helen Jennings and husband Bruce and Mrs. Barbara Moorman and husband Kevin, all of Nathalie; two sons, Mr. Anthony Logan and wife Kim of Nathalie and Mr. Vincent Logan and wife Frankie of South Boston; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ms. Judy Hancock and Ms. Mattie Tucker, both of Nathalie, and Ms. Earnestine Black of Washington, D.C.; one brother, Mr. George Hancock, of New Jersey; her mother in law, Mrs. Virginia Ewell, of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Ernestine Faulkner of Nathalie and Ms. Cathrine Sydnor of Baltimore, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Brien O’Neal Williams was born in Washington, D.C., on June 24, 1979. He was the son of the late Mrs. Ellen Hancock Canada and was a member of Brown’s Memorial Church of God in Christ.
Mr. Williams was employed by James Coleman Bricklaying Company and formerly served in the United States National Guard.
Mr. Williams is survived by two sons, Jordan and Brandon Williams, both of Nathalie; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Trent and husband Dock of Halifax, Mrs. Helen Jennings and husband Bruce, and Mrs. Barbara Moorman and Kevin, of Nathalie; two brothers, Mr. Anthony Logan and wife Kim and Mr. Vincent Logan and wife Frankie, all of South Boston; his stepfather, Mr. James E. Canada; one uncle; three aunts; and a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends including the devoted Dina Breedlove, Michael Morris and LaQuinton Jackson.
Memorial services for Mrs. Ellen Hancock Canada and Mr. Brien O’Neal Williams will be held Saturday, March 8, at 3 p.m. at Millstone Baptist Church in Nathalie with Elder William Mosby officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin and Barbara Moorman, 1039 Pearl Tree Lane, Nathalie.
