Mrs. Addie Pearl Crawley Sims of Height Trail, Halifax died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Berry Hill Nursing Home at the age of 85.
Mr. Sims was born in Halifax County on May 3, 1928 to the late Mr. Eddie Lee Crawley and Mrs. O’kary Adams Crawley. Mrs. Sims was married to the late Mr. Raymond Sims and was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include one grandson, Mr. Tavares Sims, of Halifax; two sisters, Ms. Juanita C. Newman of Halifax and Ms. Louise McCoy of Richmond; a devoted niece and caregiver, Ms. Quintina Jennings; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including the devoted Ms. Janis Chandler.
In addition to her parents and husband, one daughter, Ms. Carolyn Ann Sims, four sisters, Ms. Mabel Crawley, Mrs. Narcissie Crawley Lipscomb, Ms. Willie Crawley Edwards and Ms. Bernice Crawley, and three brothers, Mr. Walter Eddie Crawley, Mr. Benjamin “Bo Jack” Crawley and Mr. Bobby Ray Crawley, also preceded Mrs. Sims in death.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 3, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Brother LeDon Chappell officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Road Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence of Ms. Juanita Newman, 1009 Height Trail, Halifax.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
