Brenda Leigh Seamster McCraw, age 51 of Altavista died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg.
Born April 1, 1962 in Lynchburg she was a daughter of the late Willie Thomas Seamster and Bethel Maude George Seamster Harris. She was a member of Summersett Baptist Church. Mrs. McCraw loved being a highway technician with VDOT. She enjoyed horseback riding, four wheelers, bush hogging and cutting grass.
She is survived by her husband, Sam McCraw; one daughter, Kesha Leigh Monroe of Altavista; one step-daughter, Brittany Coursey (Charlie), of Lynchburg; two sisters, Barbara Seamster of Holly Hills, Fla., and Denise Ginther (Mike) of Evington; two grandchildren, T.J. Monroe (Cassie Wade) and Stuart Hunt; a father-in-law, Bernard McCraw; special friends, Faye Kean, Cathy Hancock (Clemie), Betty Vaughan (Bo) and D.J. Rivera; and two nephews, Joey Ginther, and Aaron Ginther.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Summersett Baptist Church by the Rev. Jason Andrews. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Altavista.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
