Lawrence Edward “Ed” Spahr, 77, of Travelers Rest, S.C., husband of the late Patricia Patterson Spahr, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at his home.
Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Ralph Hunt and Leona Pettyjohn Spahr. Mr. Spahr served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired after 40 years from J. P. Stevens and attended Renfrew Baptist Church.
Surviving are his four children, Gil Spahr (Theresa), Sandra Silvers (Ricky), Pam Horack (Trey) and Dan Spahr (Brenda Burch); a sister, Evelyn Thomson; a brother, Tommy Spahr; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday morning at the mortuary prior to the service.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Monday morning at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow in Coleman Memorial Cemetery.
