Mrs. Frances Lacks Rice of Clover died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Meadowview Terrace in Clarksville.
Mrs. Rice born Sept. 17, 1936 and was 77 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Leander Beverly Lacks Sr. and the late Lula Williams Lacks. Mrs. Rice was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Frances Lacks Rice is survived by two sons, Dennis T. Rice and wife Stacy of Chase City and Donnie K. Rice and fiancé’ Chrystal Lowery of Buffalo Junction; two sisters, Virginia L. Throckmorton of South Boston and Lucille L. Fisher and husband Luther of Nathalie; one nephew, Danny Moorefield, and wife Shirley of Nathalie; two nieces, Linda Younger and husband Lawson of Nathalie and Nancy Estes and husband Douglas of Fla.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leander B. Lacks Jr., Otis A. Lacks and James W. Lacks.
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Lacks Rice will be held Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Barwick officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home, one hour prior to the service.
