Mrs. Gladiola Coleman Peerman of Virgilina Road, Virgilina died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Danville Regional Hospital at the age of 84.
Mrs. Peerman was born May 27, 1929 to the late Mr. Edward David Coleman and Mrs. Jannie Owen Coleman. She was married to the late Mr. Brankle Harvey Peerman and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Peerman is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Roberta C. Jennings of Long Island, Mrs. Dolichos C. Hughes of Danville and Mrs. Jean C. Hairston of Queens, N.Y.; one brother, Mr. E. Asa Coleman, of Manassas; one goddaughter, Dr. Juliet Jennings, of Danville; one devoted niece, Ms. O. Renee Hughes, of Danville; six sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna C. Wilkerson and LouElla C. Cunningham, and one brother, LeRoy Coleman.
Funeral services for Mrs. Peerman will be Thursday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman Family Cemetery in Virgilina.
The family is receiving friends Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 at Jeffress Funeral Home.
