Thomas Lee Lacy Wade, 84, of Altavista died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Heritage Hall of Brookneal. He was the husband of the late Vernelle Jones Wade.
He was born July 15, 1929 in Halifax County, a son of the late Sidney O. Wade and Minnie Seamister Wade. He was a member of Altavista Church of Christ, a retired employee of The Lane Company and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by a sister, Janie “Polly” Owen, of Salem; a number of nieces and nephews; and a close friend from the Brookneal area.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sidney Wade, and a half-brother, William R. Wade.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista by Pastor Larry Evans and Pastor Lory Brafford with interment to follow at 1 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
