Mr. Bobby Ray Walker of Webster Street, South Boston died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 64.
Mr. Walker was born in Mecklenburg County on Oct. 18, 1949 to the late Mr. Walter Walker Sr. and Mrs. Daisy Mae Jeffress Fuller. He was married to Mrs. Martha Ann Redd Walker and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include one daughter, Ms. Patricia Ann Walker, of Blanche, N.C.; two sons, Mr. Bobby Lewis Walker Jr. of South Boston and Mr. Steven Bernard Walker of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mr. Walter Walker and wife Mary of Trottenridge and Mr. Abraham Walker of Richmond; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Jefferson and Ms. Mildred Walker, both of Alexandria and Mrs. Mary Smith and husband Sammie of Clarksville; six brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, one sister, Betty Mae Osborne, and one brother, Jesse James Walker, also preceded him in death.
A memorial service for Mr. Walker will be Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in South Boston.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home chapel.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 603 Webster Street, South Boston.
