Mr. John Henry Crawley of South Boston died Nov. 9, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 64.
Mr. Crawley was born in Charlotte County on April 29, 1949 and was the son of the late Mr. Joseph Crawley and Mrs. Frances Redd Crawley. He was married to Mrs. Barbara Ann Ferrell Crawley and joined Rocky Branch Baptist Church at an early age.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Ms. Phyllis Butler of Richmond and Miss Alisa Crawley of South Boston; one son, Mr. Michael Crawley, of Rustburg; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Mr. Clarence Redd of White Plains, N.Y. and Mr. Joseph Crawley of Nathalie; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Foster and Mrs. Geraldine Brooks, and four brothers, Jerome, Leroy and Edward Crawley and Jonny Watkins, also preceded Mr. Crawley in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Rocky Branch Baptist Church in Saxe with the Rev. Morris Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 1044 James D. Hagood Highway, South Boston. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
