Mr. George Washington Tuck of Peace Road, Roxboro, N.C. died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Person Memorial Hospital at the age of 92.
Mr. Tuck was born in Halifax County on Aug. 28, 1921 to the late Mr. Clarence Tuck and Mrs. Lucille Faulkner Tuck. He was first married to the late Mrs. Nannie Ruth Hall Tuck and later married Mrs. Esther Cash. Tuck. He was a member of Blue Wing Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Mr. George Tuck and wife Minnie of Arlington, Mr. Ernest Tuck and companion Mauri of Upper Marlboro, Md. and Mr. Robert Tuck Sr. and wife Doreen of Roxboro; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Huff and husband Art of Laurinburg, N.C., Ms. Wanda Austin of Woodbridge and Ms. Joan Cephas of Dumfries; one stepson, Mr. Reginald Tuck and wife Lori of Durham, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Verdell Claughton and husband Steve Jr. and Mrs. Carolyn Veney, all of Cluster Springs; seven sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and first wife, three sisters, Louise, Betty and Inez; three brothers, John, Wallace and Sylvester; and one grandson, Patrick Tuck, also preceded Mr. Tuck in death.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Blue Wing Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston. The family is receiving friends at the church Sunday.
