Mrs. Rosalind Hester Lacks of Love Shop Road, Halifax died Wednesday, Sept. 25, at her residence at the age of 55.
Mrs. Lacks was born in Halifax County on July 21, 1958 to the late Mr. Allen Robert Hester and Mrs. Agnes Knight Hester. She was married to Mr. Gerald L. Lacks and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In addition to her husband, survivors include one daughter, Ms. Brianna Lacks, of the home; two sons, Mr. Jeremy Lacks and Mr. Jonathan Lacks, both of Halifax; one grandchild, Kyshawn Lacks; one step-daughter, Ms. Shenel Lacks, of Knightdale, N.C.; four step-grandchildren, Chate Boxley, Chane Boxley, Chaquon Lacks and Chakeem Lacks; four sisters, Mrs. Vanessa H. Washington and husband Aaron of Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Sylvia H. McCraw and husband Vincent of Norfolk, Mrs. Teresa H. Wilson and husband Connie of Fayetteville, N.C. and Mrs. Hope H. Davis and husband Rodney of Lynchburg; three brothers, Mr. Michael Hester and wife Karen of Raleigh, N.C., Mr. David Hester and wife Debora of Halifax and Mr. George Hester of South Boston; one half-brother, Mr. Roderick Sydnor, of Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Linda Lacks of New York and Ms. Marion Hester of Halifax; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, Mr. Tyrone Hester and Mr. Eric Hester, also preceded Mrs. Lacks in death.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Brother Connie Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 2242 Love Shop Road, Halifax.
Public viewing will be Friday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston.
