Mr. Wesley Ray Gosney of 5228 Bill Tuck Highway, South Boston died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the age of 67. He was born on June 17, 1946 to the late Irvin Alvis Gosney and the late Catherine Dunn Gosney.
He was assistant manager of Riverdale Auto Parts and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Eden, N.C. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Roxboro, N.C. and was a member of the Hospital “Breakfast Club.”
Mr. Gosney is survived by one brother, Wallace B. Gosney, and his wife, Faye; one sister, Linda G. Lloyd, and her husband, Allen; and five nieces and nephews, Jason Lloyd, Kevin Gosney, Kristin Gosney, Cindy Fisher and Michael Gosney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dunn Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Will Gosney; two brothers, Wayland Lloyd Gosney and Willard Alvis Gosney; his niece, Tammy Seate; and his great-nephew, Thomas Seate III.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Norman Talley and the Rev. Dan Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Aarons Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Monday night from 7 p.m. until 8:30, and at other times at the home of Allen and Linda Lloyd, 3028 E. Hyco Road, South Boston.
