Roselyn Lee Lowery LaBelle

Roselyn Lee Lowery LaBelle, 91, passed away Aug. 27, 2013.  A native of Halifax County, Roselyn was born March 1, 1922 to the late Charles Peyton and Ottie Gravitt Lowery.  She spent many years in the Benson, Garner and Fayetteville, N.C. areas before settling with her family in Raleigh, N.C.  Roselyn was an avid homemaker and enjoyed her trade tremendously.  She spent a great deal of time gardening and gathering with her neighbors.  More than anything she enjoyed her time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in 2003, by her beloved husband of 60 years, Arthur Earl LaBelle; beloved son, James David LaBelle; brother and sister-in-law Charles “Red” Everette and Hilda Langdon Lowery; and brother-in-law James Barbour.  

She is survived by her devoted and loving son, Danny William and his wife, Nancy (Hall) LaBelle, of Cary N.C.; devoted daughter-in-law, Ginger (Sullivan) LaBelle, of Cary; grandchildren Jeff (Shannon) LaBelle of Angier, N.C., Greg (Jennifer) LaBelle of Newbury Park, Calif., Erin (Joey) Ellis of Charlotte, N.C., and Sean LaBelle of Cary; great grandsons, James and Mikey Ellis and Luke, Jonathan and Jackson LaBelle; siblings, Geraldine Barbour, of Four Oaks, James Henry (Daisy) Lowery of Raleigh, and Ruth Mae (William) Whiting of Mechanicsville; as well as many special nieces and nephews that survive her.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at St. Francis of Assisi, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC 27613.  Interment will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7600 ACC Blvd. Raleigh, NC 27613.  

The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC 27612.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607 or Phoenix Assisted Care, 201 West High St., Cary, NC 27513.
