Marjorie Michel, 74, of Murrells Inlet, S.C. died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at Agape Rehabilitation of Conway, S.C..
Born in Sharon, Pa., Mrs. Michel was the daughter of the late Harry A. Johnson and Marie Johnson. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, George P. Michel.
Mrs. Michel served as the church organist at the United Church of Christ in South Boston before moving to Murrells Inlet.
She took great pride and joy in her sewing and needlepoint.
Survivors include her loving sons, Charles (Susan) Michel of Bella Vista, Ark. and Scott (Tiffany) Michel of Charlotte, N.C.; granddaughters, Megan Michel and Stephanie Michel; brother-in-law, Andrew (Shirley) Michel of Southlake, Texas; and nephew, John Michel of Southlake.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, in Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Kirk Lawton officiating.
The family received friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation, 200 Ocean Gate, S-830, Long Beach, CA 90802.
