Mrs. Julia Mae Toney White of Elliott Avenue, South Boston died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at her residence at the age of 58.
Mrs. White was born in Prince Edward County on April 3, 1955 to the late Mr. Andrew Toney and Mrs. Nellie Webster Toney. She was married to Mr. Charles D. White Sr. and was the former owner of J&J’s Restaurant.
Mrs. White was affilliated with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
Mrs. White is survived by her husband, Mr. Charles D. White Sr., of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Natasha Ford and husband Donald and Ms. Keesha White, all of South Boston; one son, Mr. Charles D. White Jr., of Richmond; eight grandchildren; one great- grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Naomi Gibson of Farmville, Ms. Ernestine Toney of South Boston and Mrs. Pearl Williams of Lynchburg; four brothers, Mr. Bobby Toney of San Francisco, Calif., Mr. Ernest Toney, Mr. Reginald Toney and Mr. John Toney, all of Farmville; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Gertrude White; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including the devoted Ms. Janet Clay.
Memorial services for Mrs. Julia Mae Toney White will be Saturday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. at The Elks Lodge, 236 North Main Street, Farmville, with Brother Phillip Lewis officiating.
The family is receiving friends at the residence 1607 Elliott Ave., South Boston.
Funeral services are by Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston.
