Mr. Hudson Faulkner of South Boston died on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Berry Hill Nursing Home at the age of 79.
Mr. Faulkner was born in Halifax County on Aug. 13, 1934 to the late Mr. Sam Faulkner and Mrs. Maude McGhee Faulkner. He was a member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eunice F. Rogers and husband Bobby of Alexandria and Mrs. Faye F. Mack and husband Anthony of Bryans Road, Md.; one son, Mr. Roland Haskins, of Alexandria; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Ms. Francis Faulkner, of South Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including two devoted nieces, Mrs. Carolyn Featherston and Mrs. Catherine Chandler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Fannie and Susie Faulkner; six brothers, Ivy, George, Joe, Lacy, Doyle and Frank Faulkner.
Services for Mr. Hudson Faulkner will be Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Crawford House Chapel in Halifax with the Rev. Ray Craig officiating.
Public visitation for family and friends will be Friday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Crawford House.
The family is receiving friends at the residence of Ms. Catherine Chandler, 2069 Murphy Grove Road, Halifax.
Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston.
