Graley Hovis Whitlow, 64, of 630 High View Church Rd., Roxboro, N.C. died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 at his home. Born in Person County, Mr. Whitlow was the son of the late Harvey and Victoria Shields Whitlow. Mr. Whitlow was a concrete worker and a member of Florence Avenue Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school teacher and deacon. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Whitlow was preceded in death by his son, Darren Whitlow.
Mr. Whitlow is survived by his wife, Brenda Mooney Whitlow; his daughter, Nicky Collie and husband Cameron, of Roxboro, N.C.; his son, Clint Whitlow and wife Jane, of Greensboro, N.C.; his daughter-in-law, Amy Whitlow Seate, of Roxboro, N.C.; three brothers, Talmedge Whitlow and Alvin Whitlow, both of Roxboro, N.C. and Jackie Whitlow, of Mebane, N.C.; two sisters, Miranda Helfter, of Oak Island, N.C., and Betty Taylor, of Ky.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Florence Avenue Baptist Church by the Rev. Jimmy Pulliam. Burial will follow in High
View Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Brooks & White Funeral Home.
Pallbearers, Hamlin Tillotson, Buck Williams, Ronald Poole, Harold Young, Craig Young, Wayne Collie, Jerry Zimmerman, Lacy Morris and Tony Tuck.
